Polished Concrete
D&D Concrete Coatings
High-Gloss, Low-Maintenance Floors for Homes and Businesses.
Are you looking for the most elegant, durable, and low-maintenance concrete floor finish available? D&D Concrete Coatings installs professional polished concrete floors for residential and commercial clients throughout Charlotte, NC, and the surrounding area.
Using industrial planetary grinders with progressive diamond tooling, we transform raw, worn, or previously coated concrete slabs into smooth, highly reflective surfaces that rival stone and tile without the grout lines, ongoing maintenance, or replacement costs.
Polished concrete is a permanent, chemical-free finish built directly into the concrete itself. Once complete, the floor requires no waxes, coatings, or frequent upkeep. David Shindledecker personally oversees every polished concrete project, selecting the right grinding sequence, densifier, and gloss level for your specific slab conditions and design goals.

Why Choose Our Polished Concrete?
Multi-Step Diamond Grinding Process
We use industrial planetary grinders with progressive metal-bond and resin-bond diamond abrasives to refine the surface in stages, building clarity, flatness, and reflectivity with each pass.
Concrete Densifier Application
A professional lithium or sodium silicate densifier is applied during the polishing process to chemically harden the concrete surface, reduce dusting, and increase the slab’s abrasion resistance before final polishing steps.
Crack, Joint & Surface Repairs
Cracks and surface defects are filled with semi-rigid epoxy or polyurea fillers after the initial grind. Repairs are ground flush and blend seamlessly into the finished surface.
Optional Coloring and Decorative Enhancements
Concrete dyes and stains can be applied during the polishing process for uniform color, depth, and visual interest. Color is locked permanently into the concrete and polished, not applied on top.
Aggregate Exposure Options
We can achieve a cream finish, salt-and-pepper exposure, or full aggregate exposure depending on your aesthetic goals and the character of your specific slab.
Multiple Gloss Levels
Matte, satin, or high-gloss finishes are available based on your preference, intended use, and the environment where the floor will be installed.
No Waxes or Topical Coatings Required
The shine in polished concrete is created by the surface of the concrete itself, refined through mechanical polishing. There is nothing on top to peel, chip, or reapply.
Owner-Supervised Every Project
David Shindledecker personally manages every polished concrete installation from initial slab assessment through final burnishing and inspection.
